About Us

Freeman's Appliances, Inc., has a rich history dating back to 1976 when Johnny Freeman and his father, Louie, founded Freeman's Appliance Repair in a repurposed grocery store building on the south side of Duncan. Initially focused on appliance repairs and the sale of used appliances, Johnny and Louie worked tirelessly throughout the 70s and 80s.

In the 80s, the business took a new turn when Johnny, alongside his wife Laura, ventured into retail sales with the acquisition of Black's Maytag. This marked the beginning of Freeman's Maytag and a shift towards retail operations. In the early 90's Johnny's nephew, Randall, joined the Freeman's family as a service technician and he remains an integral part of our service department today.

With the acquisition came a relocation to our current premises on North Highway 81. In 2000, Johnny and his son, Jason, expanded the family business by opening J&J Appliance across the parking lot from Freeman's. Together, they enjoyed running both businesses for 21 years until Jason's untimely passing in September 2021.

In the wake of tragedy, Johnny and Laura's daughter, Jennifer, joined the Freeman's Appliance family. Today, Jennifer and Randall lead the day-to-day operations of the business, carrying forward the legacy that Johnny and Laura built over nearly five decades. The core values of family, honesty, integrity, and community involvement, instilled in our humble beginnings nearly 50 years ago, remain steadfast pillars of our identity. As a locally owned and operated corporation, we take pride in providing exceptional customer service and competitive pricing.

With two store fronts, we offer the largest selection of home appliances between Oklahoma City and Wichita Falls, Texas. Additionally, we have a full line of Serta mattresses, as well as parts and accessories for all major brands and models of appliances.
